A Peer Tutor Definition
A Peer Tutor DefinitionA peer tutor definition can be easily found on the internet and there are a lot of definitions for you to choose from. The most important thing is that you make sure that you have defined what a peer tutor is before you start your career as a peer tutor assistant.A tutor is an individual who helps students and parents learn together, imparting knowledge through the process of interactions. There are two types of tutors, those who do homework and those who do examinations. These teachers can also have extra teaching and learning duties, as well as their regular responsibilities, for instance delivering presentations. They are employed by schools, universities, colleges, and other educational institutions and some private tutoring agencies.A professional tutor is a tutor who has gained a qualification, usually from a recognized institute of education, which states that he or she is knowledgeable in the area of teaching and is prepared to do a certain type of teac hing. This can be teaching in a classroom or at home. One of the key qualities of a good tutor is an understanding of the students' learning style and learning system and an ability to bridge the gap between the learner and the instructor.Peer tutors teach under the tutelage of a regular teacher or a tutor assistant. This means that the other person is the regular teacher and the student is the student. Some companies who offer online education also hire a peer tutor who is not paid but shares the same benefits as the regular teacher. The benefit is to give the same level of services for both types of students.A peer tutor definition can be easily found on the internet and there are a lot of definitions for you to choose from. Some of the key qualities that you need to consider before choosing the right one for you are the following: how experienced is the tutor and how long have they been doing this type of job? These are important factors because they can help you determine if thi s is a person who is trustworthy. What is needed is to decide whether you would like to learn more about the subject, like which areas you would like to improve, what subject would you like to teach, and so on. You may also need to make sure that you check the list of testimonials for the reputation of the tutor before choosing. If you want to become your own teacher and guide your students, you need to learn what it takes to become a professional. This is very helpful because many times, when you are not yet certified as a teacher, you can use the service of a professional teacher who has obtained his or her certificate. This is something you should think about before signing up as a peer tutor definition for sure.

Private Tutoring at Home - How to Study Tips - Private Tutoring
Private Tutoring at Home - How to Study Tips BobbiM Sep 26, 2015 Yes, we all have more electronic gadgets than we can possible use in one day let alone at one time. And there are very few of us that cant navigate around a keyboard. However, when you are trying to study and learn a new topic your handwritten notes and study sheets are going to help you more than anything that youve typed. For whatever reason, one of the best ways to learn how to study is by taking pen or pencil to paper and writing out anything and everything related to your coursework, text or exam. Theres something about that flow as I call it that makes your brain absorb and store what you are working on as well as learning at the time. So simply grab some paper, note cards, index cards and even sticky notes and use those to collect the main points or topics for whatever you are going to be writing or studying. This extra effort even if your computer, phone or tablet are near at hand will benefit you more than you know and your grades will also reflect that as well. And for those whose handwriting is tough, write it out once and then type it up into notes. Or use a tablet like the Samsung Galaxy Note Pro that comes with a stylus and can translate your handwriting into typed notes for you. Its a more expensive option but effective as well. As weve said before, if you do this throughout the semester or year, youll be ready when exams or finals come around. You wont have to cram or stay up for all nighters (unless you want to of course) trying to get prepped in time. How to celebrate the holidays while living and teaching abroad
How to celebrate the holidays while living and teaching abroad For teachers abroad, homesickness often strikes hardest during the holiday season. Itâs easy to wallow in those feelings of loneliness when you're away from all things familiar - and your Facebook feed is full of friends and family enjoying the usual festive traditions back home. Donât stress - you can still have a good time spending the holidays abroad! Here are our tips to help you make the most of the festive season this year. Celebrate with friends. If you choose to dwell on what you're missing out on back home, then youâre bound to feel miserable around the holidays. So embrace the festive spirit - donât let the holidays pass you by! Host a turkey dinner at your place or get a bunch of friends together and head out for a holiday dinner at a local restaurant. Remember, the holidays can be lonely for many people living abroad, so spread a little kindness around and extend an invitation to people in your wider social group who you might not know very well, who may otherwise be spending the holidays alone. Recreate your holiday traditions. Donât abandon the traditions you miss the most; keep them alive by sharing them with your new local friends. Make your favorite festive dish together, throw a holiday dance party, binge watch your favorite holiday films. Get your students involved, too! Teach them your favorite holiday tune and have a singalong. Donât forget to adopt a few of your new countryâs holiday traditions, either. Spending the holidays away is a wonderful opportunity to experience a different cultural take on the traditional holiday season and to make new traditions for the years to come. Connect with loved ones. Modern technology these days has made it easier than ever to keep up with home. A well-timed Skype call home during the holidays can really help with that feeling of missing out. Set up times to connect in advance: the time difference can make things difficult around the holiday. Try something new! A change of scenery might be the very cure for your holiday blues! Take advantage of your free time and go on a mini trip. Explore a part of the country youâve been itching to visit - or hop on a plane to somewhere completely new! The novelty of visiting somewhere entirely different will help cheer you up in no time.
